Mozilla Firebird fails to recognise Java Plug-In
Mozilla and Mozilla Firebird sometimes do not recognise the Sun Java Virtual Machine (VM) when installed on Windows. Instead, Java applets are replaced by the Jigsaw piece icon with a click-here-to-install-a-plug-in link. In order to make Mozilla or Firebird recognise the Java VM, you need to create a text file (with Notepad) with the following contents, and give it a filename ending in .reg, then open this file by double-clicking on it.
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla.org\Mozilla]
"CurrentVersion"="1.5"
Alternatively, install this registry file which has the same contents.
You then need to restart Mozilla or Firebird.
